1984
Founded by Shri Ajay Kumar Garg
1991
First Organization in Eastern India to have manufacture the Vibro Screen Sorter for the tea industry.
1995
The company mainly dealt in production of machinery, such as Rotorvane, Crush Tear Curl (CTC), Continuous Fermenting Machine (CFM), etc.
1996
Gem is now the second company to manufacture VFBD in India.
1999
The first Indian made Vibratory Fluid Bed Drier was set up in South Africa, at Magwa Tea Factory.
2000
We established the first CTC tea production unit in Russia.
2003
Gem set up the first 4 line CTC tea production unit in Malawi at Conforzi Plantations Limited.
2010
We set up the first turnkey CTC project in 2010 Rwanda, at Karongi Tea Factory Ltd.
2015
We design the largest Apron Plate Stainless Steel Band Dryer 2500 kgs/hr finished product, for Franklin Baker Company in the Philippines.
2018
The single largest Continuous Chemical Withering (CCW) machine holding 35000 kgs of leaf is installed and commissioned at Elgon Tea Factory.
2019
Gem has invested in a new production plant in India spanning 5000 mtr. square of built-up area.
2020
Gem commissions a 100,000 kgs production line and CCW and CPW at Itona Tea Factory, Mufindi Tea Company, Tanzania.
2021
Development of a 480 Sq.mtr Cassava chips Dryer.
2022
Introduced fourth-generation drying technology with the Refractance Window Dryer, or Continuous Thin Film Dryer, for the first time in India.
2023
Implemented the Dehumidification System in the Continuous Chemical Withering(CCW) process within the tea industry, effectively reducing excess surface moisture in tea leaves.
2024
Introduced the world’s largest tunnel drying system in the glass fiber industry, with a drying area of 500 m².
Expanded drying expertise with the Paddle Dryer for sludge drying and implemented the Rotary Dryer/Calciner for processing critical radioactive materials like Uranium Oxides in the nuclear industry.
